Department of Computer Science – one of the most innovative and fastest growing university. CLF established September 1, 1998 for training on modern trends in information technology.
The faculty consists of faculty:
- Information Technology; Head of the Department Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Prepelitsa Georgy P.;
- Informatics; Head of the Department Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Meshcheryakov Vladimir I.;
- Аutomated Environmental Monitoring Systems; Head of the Department Ph.D., associate professor Perelygin Boris V.
- Higher and Applied Mathematics; Head of the Department Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Glushkov Alexander V..
The faculty prepare students:
EQL “Bachelor” in the direction of 6.050101 “Computer Science”;
and EQL “Master” in the specialties:
8.05010101 “Information Control Systems and Technologies”, and
8.05010105 “Computer Ecological and Economic Monitoring.”
The faculty has 47 teachers (29 PhDs and professors, 8 doctors, professors) and has about 300 students. Over the past five years, teachers of the faculty have published 755 papers and reports issued 15 monographs and textbooks. Prepared 12 candidates and doctors of sciences.
The faculty teaching practical center of information and network technology, 4 modern problem-oriented laboratories, 14 computer training classes and specialized audiences with multimedia equipment.
Scientific and teaching staff and students of the faculty are actively cooperating with regional higher education institutions of Ukraine 1-3 levels of accreditation, which train junior specialists in the field of “Computer Systems and Networks” and “Maintenance of Software Systems and Complexes”.
At the faculty uses modern approaches to the educational process and students’ independent work. Classes are held in 4 student circles, scientific seminar “New information technologies. Theory and Practice”. Students of the faculty actively participate in team and individual championships and competitions in computer science and programming (both Ukrainian and international), which took prizes.
High quality education is provided by a modern material and technical base, highly qualified teaching staff and international relations, which give the ability to integrate into the educational process academic programs leading international IT companies. Since 2012 the Faculty acts Networking Academy Cisco. In addition to using the best international practices partnership allowed to introduce in the educational process of the latest integrated technology, engineering, and information and communication medium of instruction.
Faculty actively cooperates with IT-companies with offices in Odessa. Partnerships established with such well-known companies as Luxoft, Lohika, DataArt and others. The possibility of obtaining additional professional education and qualification certificates of international standard ensures the competitiveness of graduates in the market of IT-labor.
